Dragged into first place!

Tuesday 27th Nov saw the return of Leeds’ very own Drag Idol at The Oracle down on Brewery Wharf.

Ten would-be drag queens performed their high-heeled hearts out – putting on a stunning show,

But as always there could only be one winner.

We are delighted to inform you that this year’s drag idol title goes to Miss Connie CousCous – otherwise known as Jon Bishop,

Miss CousCous performed the show stopping number Good Morning Baltimore from the musical Hairspray.

The night was a fundraiser for charities The Daybreak Trust, MESMAC, Skyline and Terrence Higgins Trust.

The event raised a fantastic £2097.

Steve Westwood from the Drag Idol team said: ‘The night exceded all our expectations, I must say a big thank you to everyone who helped this event to be such a huge success - and also a special thank you must go out to all the performers. They were fantastic!’

He added: ‘If you want a permanent reminder of the night, a DVD will be available at Winter Pride with a special event to launch it. Again, all the money raised will go to the four charities”

The night was truly amazing and we can’t wait for next year.
