New trans group for West Yorks

off the scene
from July 2008

Coming to the realisation that you are in the wrong body? Have you transitioned already?

Yorkshire MESMAC workers Pete Boyle and Tom Hunt are starting a group called Switch for transgendered people. ‘We can offer a meeting space that's easily accessible in the city centre,' they say, ‘and yet has privacy. We will respect your right to self identify and will call you by your chosen pronoun and name. Your medical history will be yours to talk about when or if you feel comfortable. It may be difficult to talk about your feelings with your friends, family and partners so we'll listen without judgment and introduce you to new friends.'
Phone: Call 0113 244 4209 for more details. If you want to talk sooner face to face, ask for Pete Boyle or Tom Hunt. The Gender Trust Helpline is on 0845 231 0505 if you wish to talk in more detail about transgender issues that are not West Yorkshire-specific.
Times: Last Tuesday of the month starting on 29th July from 6-8pm
Email: switch@mesmac.co.uk
